Côte d’Ivoire champions human-centered migration governance at un forum

The Côte d’Ivoire has stepped up its diplomatic engagement by actively participating in the second session of the International Migration Review Forum (IMRF) at the United Nations headquarters in New York. Through this strategic involvement, the country reaffirms its commitment to a migration governance model rooted in cooperation, human dignity, and sustainable development.

This high-level gathering, centered on tracking progress toward the implementation of the Global Compact for Safe, Orderly and Regular Migration—adopted in Marrakech in 2018—brings together nations to address global human mobility challenges.

Dr. Hinin Moustapha, Director-General of the National Population Office (ONP), represented Dr. Souleymane Diarrassouba, Minister of Planning and Development, during key sessions. He highlighted Côte d’Ivoire‘s advancements in migration management across critical areas such as data systems, vulnerability reduction, anti-discrimination efforts, and international cooperation.
