
Bishop of Butembo-Beni denounces political excesses in DRC
In a message issued in memory of the martyrs Charles Lwanga and his companions, Bishop Sikuli Paluku Melchisédech of Butembo-Beni, in eastern Democratic Republic of Congo, directly challenged Congolese authorities over the worsening security and social conditions in his diocese. The bishop said he observes with bitterness a gap between the concerns of politicians and the genuine needs of the Congolese people.
