The talented Moroccan midfielder Bilal El Khannouss is set to continue his football journey with VfB Stuttgart after the Bundesliga club exercised their purchase option. The 22-year-old playmaker, who spent last season on loan from Leicester City, has now inked a multi-year agreement with the German side.
His first campaign in Stuttgart’s ranks proved highly productive, as he featured in 41 competitive matches, contributing nine goals and seven assists. These standout performances earned him a spot in Morocco’s squad for the upcoming 2026 FIFA World Cup, where the Atlas Lions will face Brazil in their opening fixture on June 14.
El Khannouss’s rise in European football has been meteoric. Starting his career at Anderlecht before making his name at Genk, he later joined Leicester City before his move to Stuttgart. Already a CAF Africa Cup of Nations winner and an Olympic bronze medalist, he also claimed the U23 continental title, solidifying his reputation as one of Africa’s most exciting football talents.
