French-Guinean midfielder Aladji Bamba is set to join Newcastle United on a record-breaking transfer deal worth over $40 million, including bonuses.
Bamba, who was born in Blois, France, and represents Guinea at international level, has received clearance to move to England for a medical and to sign a long-term contract with the Premier League club.
When asked about his new chapter in his career, Bamba said: "This is an incredible opportunity and a major step forward in my progression.
