Just a year after his big-money move to Paris Saint-Germain, goalkeeper Lucas Chevalier finds himself at a crossroads. Left out of France’s World Cup squad, the 24-year-old shot-stopper is now facing an uncertain future at the Parc des Princes. While waiting for a signal from the club’s hierarchy, two foreign clubs have already stepped up their interest. Here’s the latest on the former Lille star.

Signed for €55 million (including bonuses) last summer, the LOSC academy product endured a tough debut season in the French capital. Dropped down the pecking order behind Matvey Safonov, the Calais-born goalkeeper is expected to have a busy summer as his future remains in doubt. Not selected by Didier Deschamps for the World Cup, Chevalier is currently on holiday, waiting to learn what PSG intends to do with him.
Besiktas make their move for Lucas Chevalier
According to information gathered in recent weeks, several clubs have inquired about the 24-year-old. Tottenham were among the early suitors. But most recently, Turkish giants Besiktas have sounded out the situation. The Istanbul side are on the hunt for a top‑class keeper and have identified Chevalier as a target. However, should he leave Paris, the Frenchman is likely to prioritise a more attractive sporting project than the one currently on offer in Turkey.
“To regain confidence, he needs to look elsewhere”
Former France international Laure Boulleau recently argued that a summer move is the best option for Chevalier: “I’m not happy to see he’s had a catastrophic, almost cataclysmic season. He really needs to bounce back. I don’t think he’s become a bad goalkeeper overnight. He has to rebuild his confidence, and to do that, he will have to look elsewhere. He needs to go somewhere he can be happy and rediscover the qualities we all know he has.”
