Kétou imposes uniform rule for taxi-moto drivers starting July 2026

In Kétou, motorcycle taxi operators will soon be required to work in uniform. The local government has launched an enrollment drive to implement this reform, which is intended to boost security, simplify driver identification, and bring better order to urban transportation.
The enrollment campaign will run from July 6 to July 20, 2026, at the administrative offices of each district. Drivers must bring a valid ID to register. Completing this step is mandatory to receive the official uniform.
After the registration period ends, only properly enrolled drivers wearing the uniform may carry passengers. The mayor’s office warns that violators will face penalties under existing regulations.
Municipal authorities are also urging residents to back the reform by choosing officially registered drivers. District chiefs, taxi-moto driver associations, and security services have been tasked with enforcing the new rule.
