Amman has strongly condemned the recent terror plots foiled in Morocco, pledging unwavering support to Rabat in safeguarding its national security and territorial integrity.
The Jordanian Ministry of Foreign Affairs and Expatriates issued a statement on Monday, July 6, denouncing plans aimed at destabilizing public order and threatening the lives and property of Moroccan citizens.
The ministry’s spokesperson, Ambassador Fouad Majali, emphasized Jordan’s full solidarity with Morocco, reaffirming its backing for all measures undertaken by Moroccan authorities to protect their population and uphold stability.
This declaration follows the announcement by Morocco’s Central Bureau of Judicial Investigations about the dismantling of highly dangerous terror cells, which had reached an advanced stage of preparation.
Based on intelligence provided by Morocco’s Directorate General for National Security (DGST), simultaneous operations were conducted across several cities, leading to the arrests of radicalized individuals.
Investigators allege that the suspects were receiving logistical and operational support from the Islamic State’s Sahel affiliate, highlighting the transnational nature of the threat.
