As global powers engage in an intense race to dominate artificial intelligence, Gabon is advocating for a distinctly different approach. Speaking at the Global Dialogue on AI Governance in Geneva, under the auspices of the United Nations, Mark Alexandre Doumba, Gabon’s Minister of Digital Economy, called for a fundamental reassessment of the international community’s priorities. For Libreville, the focus should not be on developing the fastest or most powerful AI, but on creating technology that is genuinely inclusive and accessible to all.
