The first quarter of 2026 has delivered a stark warning for Gabon’s energy sector. According to the latest Sectoral Conjuncture Report from the General Directorate of Economy and Fiscal Policy (DGEPF), electricity generation plummeted by 13.2% compared to the previous quarter and 20.1% year-on-year. This alarming decline exposes systemic vulnerabilities that residents have endured for far too long.
