On Monday, June 22, Gabon’s Head of State, Oligui Nguema, welcomed Messouda Bahama Mohamed Laghdaf, the Minister of Environment and Sustainable Development for the Islamic Republic of Mauritania. Minister Laghdaf conveyed an official message from His Excellency Mohamed Ould Cheikh El Ghazouani, President of the Islamic Republic of Mauritania, and formally presented Mauritania’s candidacy for the esteemed position of Secretary-General of the International Organisation of La Francophonie (OIF).

During their exchange, the Special Envoy reiterated Mauritania’s firm resolve to intensify bilateral cooperation with Gabon.
