Fbi affirms Morocco as key partner for 2026 world cup security

Christopher Raia, the Deputy Director of the Federal Bureau of Investigation (FBI), recently visited the International Police Cooperation Centre (IPCC), a critical hub bringing together law enforcement and security representatives from nations participating in the upcoming 2026 World Cup.

This visit forms part of the high-level security framework established to safeguard all matches throughout the global tournament. During his engagement, the American official held a dedicated meeting with representatives from Morocco’s General Directorate of National Security (DGSN) and the General Directorate of Territorial Surveillance (DGST).

Mr. Raia extended his profound gratitude to the Moroccan delegation for their nation’s involvement in securing the monumental event and for their ongoing contributions across all phases of the tournament. He emphasized that the FBI views the Kingdom of Morocco as a supremely reliable partner, possessing internationally acclaimed expertise and credibility in security matters.

Addressing representatives from various foreign security services also present at the IPCC, the FBI Deputy Director delivered a speech underscoring the critical nature of international partnership and multilateral cooperation. He highlighted the indispensable role of intelligence sharing within the security apparatus for the World Cup, an event co-hosted by the United States.

Furthermore, he brought attention to the immense challenge of securing 78 matches over a span of nearly two weeks. He stated unequivocally that achieving this ambitious objective would be impossible without robust and seamless international cooperation.

Christopher Raia also pointed out a recent increase in the number of threats successfully neutralized by American authorities on their territory. He attributed this positive development directly to the precision of intelligence shared and the continuous support provided by partner nations.
