CMA CGM backs Ndayane port project to boost Senegal’s logistics hub

During the « Africa Forward » forum in Nairobi, Senegalese President Bassirou Diomaye Faye engaged in discussions with Rodolphe Saadé, CEO of CMA CGM, a global leader in maritime transport and logistics. The meeting centered on Senegal’s port infrastructure ambitions, particularly the upcoming Ndayane port project and its economic impact.

The Ndayane port, a strategic initiative, is poised to position Senegal as a key logistics hub on Africa’s Atlantic coast. This transformative project aims to enhance trade flows, create long-term employment opportunities, and strengthen the national economy through increased commercial activity and revenue.

With operations spanning over 170 countries and a fleet of approximately 700 container ships, CMA CGM has reaffirmed its commitment to supporting Senegal’s economic and logistical growth. The collaboration underscores the importance of sustainable infrastructure development in driving regional competitiveness.
