The future of Yan Diomandé is taking an unexpected turn. The 19-year-old winger currently representing Côte d’Ivoire at the 2026 World Cup was widely expected to join Paris Saint-Germain this summer, but that move may now be postponed by a full year.
Yan Diomandé appears to have made up his mind about his next destination. The RB Leipzig starlet, chased by several European giants this summer, has chosen to join PSG. Sources close to the player confirm that the 19-year-old, currently playing in the 2026 World Cup for Côte d’Ivoire, opted for the Parisian club for a combination of personal and sporting reasons. However, the transfer may not happen immediately.
Why Diomandé picked psg over bayern and liverpool
“Yan Diomandé, one of the most gifted players in the world and one of the most wanted – pursued by Bayern Munich, PSG, Liverpool and many others – has made his choice. And the club he selected is PSG. He wants to go to PSG because it’s his father’s team, he would love to live in Paris, the project is seen as highly ambitious, he is drawn by the prospect of winning Champions League titles, he believes PSG can lift multiple trophies in the coming years, and Luis Enrique’s style is very appealing to him. All these reasons led Yan Diomandé to decide on PSG,” an insider revealed.
Rb leipzig could delay psg deal until 2027
“There is already a contractual agreement between PSG and the player – a 5-year deal with a significant salary. However, RB Leipzig will not let him go for less than €100 million. If PSG cannot meet that price now, Leipzig is willing to offer the option of signing the player for summer 2027 instead,” the same source added. The ball is now in PSG’s court. Will they pay a record fee this year or wait another season? The saga continues.
