Yan Diomandé was on the verge of joining Liverpool, but the Ivorian winger has now opted for Paris Saint-Germain. This decision allows the French club to speed up negotiations, and the transfer could be finalized even sooner than anticipated, possibly before the signature of Maghnes Akliouche.
PSG confident in Diomandé pursuit
Paris Saint-Germain is highly optimistic about completing the Yan Diomandé deal. Thanks to strong ties between Nasser Al-Khelaïfi and RB Leipzig supervisory board president Oliver Mintzlaff, the Parisian club believes it can move quickly. Yan Diomandé could become the first summer arrival at PSG, overtaking Maghnes Akliouche in the pecking order. An official announcement may come within days.
First summer signing for Paris?
For now, Yan Diomandé remains focused on the World Cup, where Côte d’Ivoire will face Norway in the round of 16. Once the tournament ends, he hopes to fulfill his dream of playing for PSG. ‘I love PSG since I was a child. My father was a PSG supporter. I stay focused on the World Cup and we will see what happens later,’ he said during a friendly between France and Côte d’Ivoire before the World Cup.
