Vitinha named man of the match in PSG’s dramatic Champions League triumph
Portuguese midfielder Vitinha delivered a masterclass as Paris Saint-Germain secured an unforgettable Champions League victory against Arsenal, earning the prestigious man of the match accolade.
Minutes after lifting the iconic trophy alongside his teammates, Vitinha was honored with the man of the match award. His all-around performance was nothing short of exceptional, particularly in orchestrating play from the midfield where he dominated possession with a record 162 touches and completed 141 of his 150 passes.
UEFA’s technical observers were unanimous in their praise: “Vitinha was the standout performer for Paris tonight. He seized control of the midfield, especially in the second half, driving his team forward and dictating the pace of play. It was a masterful display.”
The only blemish on his night came in extra time, when he was forced off at the 105th minute with a suspected left-leg injury. The Portuguese international was subbed for Lucas Beraldo, leaving the pitch under a cloud of uncertainty.
