UN Security Council Denounces Recent Terrorist Strikes in Mali
The United Nations Security Council has issued a strong rebuke against a wave of brutal terrorist assaults carried out by Al-Qaïda-linked militants in Mali since April 25, demanding swift justice for those responsible.
In an official statement released on Friday, the Council emphasized the urgent need to hold accountable not only the attackers themselves but also their organizers, financiers, and all those who supported these heinous acts.
The country has been gripped by unrest following unprecedented strikes against key military positions controlled by the transitional government, which took power in 2020. The assaults, which struck strategic urban centers on April 25 and 26, resulted in the tragic loss of the Defense Minister’s life.
