Tchad security boosts protection for tabaski celebrations

The Minister of Public Security and Immigration, General Ali Ahmat Aghabache, has issued urgent directives to enhance safety measures at public and religious sites ahead of the Tabaski celebrations. The order, issued on May 25, 2026, mandates heightened vigilance across all security services to safeguard mosques, churches, marketplaces, government buildings, and other gathering spaces during the festival.

In an official communiqué, the Minister emphasized the strict enforcement of security protocols throughout the entire duration of the event. He called for unwavering attention to detail to ensure that all precautionary measures are meticulously implemented, leaving no room for oversight.

The directives come as Tabaski, one of the most significant Islamic holidays, approaches. The festival is traditionally marked by large congregational prayers, animal sacrifices, and widespread family and community gatherings.
