Mali targets top terror figures with cash bounties
In a decisive move to curb terrorism and safeguard national security, the Malian Government has announced cash rewards for seven prominent terrorist leaders. The bounties range from 500 million to 2 billion West African CFA francs for information leading to their capture or neutralization.
A statement from the Ministry of Security emphasizes the urgency: « The Government of Mali is offering financial incentives to individuals who provide credible, actionable intelligence that enables the arrest or elimination of these designated individuals. »
The list includes high-profile figures such as Iyad Ag Ghali (2 billion FCFA), Hamadoun Hassan Sankaré, also known as Amadou Kouffa (1.5 billion FCFA), Abdoulaye Mahamadou Bekaye Diallo, alias Doulé Bib de Nampala (1.5 billion FCFA), and Alghabass Ag Intallah (1 billion FCFA).
These individuals are accused of orchestrating and executing attacks that have destabilized Mali’s security landscape, targeting both civilians and infrastructure. Authorities stress that they remain active threats, with ongoing efforts by security forces to locate and apprehend them.
The public is urged to remain vigilant and assist the armed and security forces by sharing any information that could aid in their capture. Cooperation is critical in dismantling terrorist networks and restoring peace in the region.
