In a significant move toward regional cooperation, Mali has declared the reinstatement of its ambassador to Algeria and the resumption of full airspace access for flights between the two nations.
According to an official statement from Mali’s transitional government, this decision reflects “a renewed commitment to fostering cooperation and friendship” between the Republic of Mali and the People’s Democratic Republic of Algeria. The communiqué confirms the return of Mali’s ambassador to Algiers, emphasizing the importance of diplomatic engagement.
The announcement also highlights that Mali’s airspace is now fully open to both civilian and military aircraft operating to and from Algeria. This reciprocal measure follows Algeria’s earlier decision to lift restrictions on Malian flights, signaling a fresh chapter in bilateral relations after recent diplomatic strains.
