Liverpool has had to reconsider its strategy in the hunt for a top-class winger after primary target Yan Diomande made clear his desire to join Paris Saint-Germain. The Reds are now turning their attention to Bradley Barcola, also contracted to the French champions, to fill the void left by Mohamed Salah.

    Liverpool has dropped the pursuit of Diomande, the RB Leipzig prodigy. The 19-year-old winger, who impressed during the World Cup, is now expected to join the Ligue 1 champions.

    The Parisian club is highly confident that a deal with Leipzig will be finalized swiftly. The Bundesliga side initially demanded a hefty fee, which cooled Liverpool’s interest as they refused to exceed their internal valuation for the young talent.

    The French international’s situation at PSG is complicated. Although still highly valued, his future remains uncertain due to frustration over not being started in the biggest matches.     During the World Cup group stage, he scored against Sénégal and provided an assist against Norway for the French national team.
