Lens vs PSG: the high-stakes Ligue 1 clash not streaming on Ligue 1+
With a potential 14th Ligue 1 title on the line, Paris Saint-Germain are set to face Lens at 21:00 CET this Wednesday in Artois. Luis Enrique’s side will aim to secure the championship before the season finale, while their clash could also ease the pressure ahead of the Champions League final against Arsenal on 30 May. Fans hoping to watch the action on Ligue 1+ will need to tune into beIN Sports instead.
The showdown was originally scheduled for Saturday, 11 April at 17:15, a slot reserved for beIN Sports broadcasts under the current Ligue 1 rights agreement. PSG, however, requested a postponement due to a congested schedule that included two Champions League quarter-final matches against Liverpool within six days. The request was granted, but the rights holder retained broadcast control over the rescheduled fixture.
Why the Lens-PSG clash isn’t available on Ligue 1+
Despite the date change, beIN Sports maintained exclusive rights to the match, mirroring the original broadcast agreement. The decision leaves Ligue 1+ subscribers without access to the high-profile encounter, even though it remains a pivotal fixture in the title race and Champions League preparation.
A PSG victory on Wednesday would secure the club’s 14th league crown. If not, the Parisians would still only need a single point against Paris FC in their final game to claim the title, while Lens will face Lyon in their own decisive match. With a six-point lead already in place, the suspense for PSG has largely faded.
