Gabriel Martinelli may push for Arsenal exit after Premier League title win

Arsenal’s Premier League title ambitions could lead to a surprising twist at the Emirates Stadium this summer. A club legend has suggested that Gabriel Martinelli may force a transfer if the Gunners secure the championship, citing concerns over his limited playing time.

Mikaël Silvestre, former Arsenal defender and now football pundit, believes the Brazilian international might see the summer as the perfect moment to seek new challenges following a title triumph. “Martinelli has been a key figure for Arsenal, but his role has diminished in recent months,” Silvestre stated. “He’s an international player who wants to play regularly, and if Arsenal win the league, this could be his ideal opportunity to move on.”

Championship glory on the horizon

Arsenal are just two victories away from ending their 20-year title drought. Their upcoming clashes against Burnley and Crystal Palace could seal their first Premier League crown since 2004. The Gunners currently lead Manchester City by two points, with City facing a tough run-in against Bournemouth and Aston Villa.

Arteta’s side also remains in contention for a historic domestic and European double, with a potential Champions League final against Paris Saint-Germain looming. However, the summer transfer window is expected to bring significant changes to the squad, with or without silverware.

Martinelli’s future hangs in the balance

At 23 years old, Martinelli has made nearly 300 appearances for Arsenal since his debut in 2019. Yet this season, his playing time has been inconsistent—starting just ten Premier League games and often used as a substitute. “He’s a world-class talent who deserves regular football,” Silvestre emphasized. “With Leandro Trossard currently preferred, Martinelli may feel the time is right to pursue a move.”

A potential replacement emerges

Arsenal are reportedly eyeing Paris Saint-Germain winger Bradley Barcola as a possible replacement. The young Frenchman has impressed in Ligue 1 and could offer the creativity and pace needed to bolster Arteta’s attack. “Barcola is still raw but has enormous potential,” Silvestre noted. “He excels in duels, creates space, and delivers key passes—skills that would complement any top-flight side.”

The upcoming weeks will reveal whether Arsenal can secure the title—and whether Martinelli’s future lies elsewhere.
