“I want tomorrow the Federation of Enterprises of Gabon to be recognised not only for defending businesses, but above all for making them succeed.”
This was the wish expressed by the president of the Federation of Enterprises of Gabon (FEG), Alain Claude Kouakoua, during the opening ceremony of the second edition of the Gabon Economic Forum (GEF) on Saturday, 27 June 2026, at the Palais des Congrès.
The event brings together decision-makers and international partners as a platform aimed at addressing Gabon’s economic challenges.
Taking a pragmatic stance, the FEG president stated that no country has developed without strong companies. For him, the enterprise is not a peripheral actor but the driving force.
For his part, the Vice President of the Republic, Hugues Alexandre Barro Chambrier, emphasised the state’s understanding and support for the private sector: “The state will do its part to ensure that the cleanup of public finances allows, in due time, for what must be paid to private enterprises.”
His speech carried a strong ambition: “to build a diversified economy, less dependent on raw materials and more oriented towards industrialisation.”
This forum thus represents a robust dialogue to advance Gabon’s economic issues and objectives.
