Digital freight transport modernization training held in N’Djamena

N’Djamena hosts key training on digital freight transport modernization

A landmark training session concluded in the capital, equipping transport officials with digital tools to modernize land freight services in Chad.

Training session on digital freight transport modernization in Chad

Chad’s National Land Freight Bureau (BNFT) has successfully wrapped up a three-day intensive training program in N’Djamena focused on digitalizing land freight services. The workshop, held at the Kempinski Hotel N’Djamena, brought together controllers and dispatchers from N’Djamena and Mayo-Kebbi regions to explore cutting-edge digital solutions designed to revolutionize the country’s transport sector.

Key modules and digital tools introduced

During the closing ceremony, Brahim Mahamat Adoum, chair of the steering committee, commended participants for their active engagement throughout the training. He highlighted the introduction of several critical modules centered on digital technologies and electronic freight management. These included digital interface navigation, freight declaration processes, transporter management, agency configuration, and system parameterization. Organizers emphasized that these innovations are set to enhance administrative efficiency and streamline real-time field operation tracking.

Government commitment to digital transformation

BNFT’s president stressed that this initiative aligns with national efforts to modernize public services and accelerate Chad’s digital transition. He noted that the digitalization of mandatory documents such as the Freight Vehicle Letter (LVO) and Axle Tax (TAE) is now essential to strengthen transport oversight. Technical partners TRADELINK SOLUTIONS and SERVOO Consulting were recognized for their pivotal role in delivering expert guidance throughout the program. Participants were urged to apply their newly acquired skills to support the modernization of Chad’s land freight sector.

e-BNFT platform: a game-changer for transport documentation

Saleh Youssouf Erda, Director-General of the steering committee, reiterated that the workshop aimed to train agents, controllers, and dispatchers on the e-BNFT digital platform. He described the initiative as a decisive move away from paper-based processes toward a fully digitalized institutional framework. The platform enables instant issuance and verification of critical documents like the LVO and TAE, while also facilitating seamless, contactless processing of goods transport records—accessible via computer or mobile device.

Boosting state revenue and economic planning

The Director-General also underscored the platform’s role in securing state revenue and generating reliable statistical data for better national economic management. He framed the digital transition as part of the broader modernization vision championed by President Mahamat Idriss Déby Itno. In closing the workshop, he called on participants to use the platform daily to deepen their proficiency and serve as trainers for colleagues who missed the session. The event concluded on a note of optimism, with a renewed commitment to overcoming the challenges of digitalization in public administration and land transport.
