Antoine Assalé Tiémoko, the dynamic mayor of Tiassalé, a vibrant and diverse city situated approximately 120 kilometers from Abidjan, has unveiled plans to introduce complimentary communal transportation services on weekends for residents.
This innovative initiative is slated for implementation starting in late 2026, commencing with a strategic pilot phase.
”This measure is an integral part of our commitment to redistribute the commune’s resources. Our own funds, primarily from municipal taxes, have seen substantial growth, escalating from 24 million FCFA in 2019 to 91 million in 2025, with a projected increase to 100 million by 2026,” Mayor Assalé elaborated in an official information note published on his Meta account.
The groundbreaking announcement of this unique policy was made by the mayor on Friday, May 22, 2026, during the 11th annual accountability day held at the Tiassalé marriage hall.
Antoine Assalé Tiémoko, a prominent figure in both politics and journalism, serves as the mayor of Tiassalé commune and also presides over the political movement ”Aujourd’hui et demain, la Côte d’Ivoire (ADCI)”.
