Senegal’s President Bassirou Diomaye Faye has inaugurated a new political chapter by unveiling KIIRAAY – Les Patriotes Républicains, a party launched in Dakar on Saturday, July 25, signaling a strategic shift in the nation’s political landscape following his departure from the PASTEF, led by his former mentor Ousmane Sonko.
The party’s name, derived from the Wolof term for “what protects,” reflects its core mission: safeguarding national interests, reinforcing republican institutions, and upholding the rule of law.
