Mayelia PARTICIPATIONS finalizes SICTA acquisition, charting new course for automotive control in Côte d’Ivoire

In a significant development for Côte d’Ivoire’s automotive sector, the holding company Mayelia PARTICIPATIONS has officially confirmed its acquisition of SICTA (Société Ivoirienne de Contrôle Technique Automobile), the nation’s long-standing operator in vehicle technical inspection.

Addressing the press in Abidjan on April 29, David Fofana, CEO of Mayelia PARTICIPATIONS, elaborated on the strategic takeover of SICTA and the substantial progress achieved since its integration a year prior.

Through this acquisition, Mayelia not only inherits SICTA’s five decades of operational expertise but also infuses it with a renewed spirit of innovation and forward-thinking dynamics.

A primary objective articulated by the leadership is to dramatically enhance the customer experience. This ambition is well-founded, considering Mayelia PARTICIPATIONS’ proven track record, notably with Mayelia Automotive, where they successfully streamlined processes to reduce waiting times to just 30 minutes, thereby setting new benchmarks for service efficiency within the industry.

The company is committed to aligning its operations with the government’s stringent “Zéro complaisance” policy. By doing so, Mayelia positions itself as a crucial ally to the State in bolstering road safety initiatives and actively working towards a reduction in traffic-related fatalities.

Beyond its core focus on automotive technical control, Mayelia PARTICIPATIONS has evolved into a rapidly expanding, multisectoral conglomerate. Driven by a clear pan-African vision, the group’s strategy hinges on fostering synergy across its diverse ventures. Currently operating across two countries, Mayelia unites six distinct subsidiaries spanning critical sectors such as mobility (Mayelia Mobilité), advanced technologies (CIEIRIA), professional training (Mayelia Academy), and, of course, vehicle technical inspection (Mayelia Automotive Côte d’Ivoire, Mayelia Automotive Guinée, SICTA).
