On behalf of President Brice Clotaire Oligui Nguema, Vice President of the Government Hermann Immongault participated on June 26 in Antananarivo in the festivities marking the 66th anniversary of Madagascar’s independence. Alongside other delegation heads, he attended the military parade at Mahamasina Stadium, highlighting the commitment, patriotism, and modernization of the Armed Forces. The commemoration was themed “reform for Madagascar’s development.”
The VP’s presence reflects the excellent relations between the Gabonese and Malagasy peoples. It underscores the desire of Libreville and Antananarivo to further boost exchanges. This follows the visit of Colonel Michaël Randrianirina, president of the Malagasy Refoundation, to Libreville from June 5 to 7. The highlight was a tête-à-tête with his Gabonese counterpart at the Palais du Bord de mer, after which Randrianirina expressed his intent to draw inspiration from Gabon’s transition and praised its achievements.
