The Central African Banking Commission (COBAC) has revoked the operating licence of Financial Development Tchad (FINADEV Tchad S.A.), a microfinance institution based in N’Djamena, placing it into liquidation.
Licence withdrawal takes immediate effect
The decision, issued on 5 February 2026, was made public on 21 May 2026 through an official statement. As of the notification date, FINADEV Tchad S.A. is legally mandated into liquidation, marking the end of its microfinance operations in Chad.
Liquidation process and timelines
The liquidation process has been assigned to a designated administrator, tasked with finalising the institution’s affairs. This operation is set to last up to one year, with the possibility of extension if circumstances require.
