Chelsea secures record-breaking £138m signing from Aston Villa

Chelsea Football Club has completed the signing of England international Morgan Rogers, securing the young attacking talent from Aston Villa in a deal that sets a new benchmark for Premier League expenditures. The London-based club confirmed the five-year contract via its official channels, tying Rogers to Stamford Bridge until 2033 as part of Xabi Alonso’s rebuilding project ahead of the upcoming season.

Rogers arrives at Chelsea after establishing himself as one of the most exciting offensive prospects in English football. His time at Aston Villa was marked by consistent goal contributions, with 40 goals and assists combined across 85 Premier League appearances. The transfer fee, reported to be in the region of £138 million, makes Rogers the second-most expensive signing in Premier League history—only surpassed by Alexander Isak’s move from Newcastle to Liverpool last summer.
