Cameroon public service opens 2,305 recruitment positions for 2026

The government has released a series of decrees announcing the launch of training competitions, direct competitions, professional competitions, and selection tests to fill these roles.

For the 2026 fiscal year, Cameroon’s state civil service is offering a total of 2,305 positions across various ministries. Minister of Public Service and Administrative Reform, Joseph LE, initiated the recruitment process on June 4 by publishing participation guidelines through 36 decrees opening the competitions. In the accompanying information note, the minister details how the vacancies are distributed.

First, for standard recruitments, 890 slots are available. This includes 470 places through direct competitions targeting civil servants in financial administration, agriculture, mining and geology, civil engineering, livestock and marine fisheries, telecommunications, and public health; 100 places through training competitions at the National Institute of Youth and Sports (INJS) and the National Youth and Sports Centers (CENAJES); 220 places through training competitions at the National School of Administration and Magistracy (ENAM); and 100 places through selection tests.

Next, for special recruitments ordered by the President of the Republic in the health and education sectors, 1,200 positions are open: 1,000 slots for free auditors at ENS and ENSET, and 200 slots for medical specialists. These add to the 920 other health personnel positions opened under the recruitments of April 7 and 10, 2026. Regarding free auditors, the minister specifies that when submitting applications, each candidate will choose a school where they wish to work and will take the exam at the regional center hosting that school.

Finally, 215 positions will be filled through professional competitions.

It is worth noting that the number of positions for 2026 represents a decrease of 555 compared to the 2025 fiscal year, when the government opened competitions for 2,860 places.
