Sawti: simplifying political information access for moroccans

Sawti

The digital platform Sawti is ushering in a transformative approach to making political information in Morocco more accessible, transparent, and understandable for all citizens, whether residing within the country or abroad.

Launched as a non-profit initiative, Sawti was conceived by two visionary Moroccan entrepreneurs, Ismaïl Lahlou and Yassine Lahlou Kamal. Their core mission is to enhance access to reliable political insights and foster broader citizen engagement across Morocco.

Designed with a diverse audience in mind, the platform excels in its linguistic inclusivity. Sawti currently offers content in nine languages, including Darija, Arabic, French, English, Spanish, Italian, Dutch, and German, with plans to integrate Tamazight in the near future. Its intuitive interface ensures effortless navigation, allowing users to easily explore the wealth of information provided.

In an era where political complexities often deter public understanding, Sawti delivers comprehensive educational resources. These materials are crafted to demystify the intricacies of institutional operations, electoral processes, and the dynamic national political landscape in Morocco.

Among its crucial functionalities, Sawti enables users to swiftly verify their registration on electoral rolls or complete online voter registration in a matter of minutes. With the registration deadline set for June 13th, the platform offers a vital, rapid pathway for individuals to confirm their status and register promptly.

Furthermore, the platform dedicates specific information to Moroccans living abroad, detailing the procedures for participating in elections from overseas. Looking ahead, Sawti aims to introduce an interactive quiz, empowering users to explore their political alignment based on their personal values and perspectives on key societal issues.

Accessible online, Sawti embodies a progressive movement towards modernizing access to information and strengthening active citizen participation throughout Morocco.
