The signing ceremony took place on the sidelines of a coordination meeting in N’Djamena, marking the second day of the Algerian delegation’s working visit to Chad. Abdelkader Djellaoui, Algeria’s Minister of Public Works and Basic Infrastructure, and Amir Idriss Kourda, Chad’s Minister of Infrastructure, Disenclavement, and Road Maintenance, affixed their signatures to the document. Key figures present at this important gathering included the Director General of the Algerian Agency for International Cooperation for Solidarity and Development, Algeria’s Ambassador to Chad, and senior representatives from the Cosider group and the National Public Works Company (SNTP).
Also representing Chad were the Minister Delegate for Infrastructure and numerous high-ranking officials. During the discussions, the Chadian Minister highlighted the « rapid dynamic » currently characterizing the execution of bilateral agreements. He lauded the tangible advancements observed on the ground since the agreements were initially sealed on April 22nd in Algiers. These notable strides include reciprocal technical visits and, significantly, the commencement of feasibility studies for the ambitious Trans-Saharan Road project, which will traverse Chadian territory.
