Abidjan, July 13, 2026 – The 2025 presidential candidate, Dr. Ahoua Don-Mello, and his core supporters have taken a decisive step in their political journey by initiating the creation of a new political party. This landmark decision followed a plenary assembly held on Saturday, July 11, 2026, in Abidjan, as confirmed in an official statement.
Attendees—including loyalists and key members of the former presidential campaign team—overwhelmingly endorsed a resolution to establish a new political formation. The move comes after a dedicated reflection committee evaluated the future of the movement and concluded that formal party structure would be essential to sustain and amplify its mission.
In response, the assembly granted Dr. Ahoua Don-Mello the mandate to lead the party’s formation process and oversee the upcoming “Pioneers’ Congress,” which will serve as the foundational event for the new organization. The statement emphasized that this transition marks the evolution of the campaign team into a structured political force committed to innovation, unity, and change.
The future party will champion core values such as democracy, social justice, good governance, solidarity, meritocracy, and national sovereignty. Dr. Ahoua Don-Mello expressed gratitude for the trust placed in him during the assembly and outlined the project’s guiding principles. He also extended an invitation to patriotic, progressive, democratic, and sovereigntist forces to join this initiative, aiming to build a more equitable, prosperous, and united Côte d’Ivoire.
The preparatory phase for the Pioneers’ Congress has already begun, with the official date to be announced shortly, according to the statement.
Dr. Ahoua Don-Mello, previously the vice-president of the African People’s Party-Côte d’Ivoire (PPA-CI) before his expulsion, ran as an independent candidate in the October 2025 presidential election.
